Tennis-A-Thon

The 15-LOVE Tennis-A-Thon is being held at SPORTIME Schenectady:

  • Saturday, April 2nd (4:00 pm - 6:00 pm)
  • Wednesday, April 6th (4:00 pm-6:00 pm)
  • Saturday, April 9th (4:00 pm-6:00 pm) (Back-up Date for inclement weather)

The Tennis-A-Thon is a fundraiser. Players get 50 serves, and people pledge money for every serve they hit in. I hope everyone will support their favorite 15-LOVE player.  You can pledge to a 15-LOVE player or you can have one of your team players serve and pledge to them.

Most people see 15-LOVE as a Tennis Program. What most people don't see is that 15-LOVE is so much more.

15-LOVE is also a Literacy Program. They have one-on-one literature activities, hands-on reading, writing activities, and reading aloud activities. They also have a Book Power Club, an after-school reading program for inner-city school students, and a Book Distribution program. 15-LOVE also does a two-day Book Giveaway - a Free book giveaway for kids ages 0—18 and their families! (2 new books, unlimited used books, take-home seasonal craft, clothing, toys, etc.)

15-LOVE is also a Healthy Living Program. 5-LOVE's Healthy Living & Gardening programs teach our community the importance of a healthy diet and exercise to live a happy and healthy lifestyle. Our office has 11 raised garden beds and many pots filled with vegetables, herbs, and fruits.

15-LOVE is also a College Prep Program. Students work through a five-year curriculum that ends with the college application, financial aid, and decision process.

15-LOVE is also a STEM program. Their older kids go through a USTA Foundation / NJTL STEM program as part of their summer tennis lessons. Our younger participants have the opportunity to join a weekly STEM club that encourages them to explore, test, refine and generally get excited about STEM.

Consider pledging a donation to 15-LOVE for your favorite 15-LOVE player or collect pledges and come serve yourself.
