High School Sectional Finals

They played the Boys High School Sectional Finals and 3/4 Playoffs today at Central Park. Dhev Jammula was crowned Section 2 Singles Champion with a victory over Mahen Bitkuri, “I played with a rolled ankle but still managed to battle and took the victory.” (Krishnadhev Jammula) Will Bievenue and Aaditya Ojha took the Doubles Title by beating Zain Choudry and Avaneesh Benki. “It was a great experience. Doubles is a whole different game than singles, so we had to do a lot of adjusting as we played. It’s great to be so successful in my senior year and share it with a younger partner. Aadi and I have meshed very well together on and off the court.” (Will Bievenue)

Masami Surisawa took third place in the singles with a win over Ashrith Rao, while Zain Magdon-Ismail and Will Fraser took 3rd place in the doubles by beating Roshan Mehta and Abhinav Thati.

I asked Dhev about going to the States with his teammates. “We are the only school with both doubles and singles going, which is a huge accomplishment. I get to play alongside them, and they hype me up a lot. (Krishnadhev Jammula)
